Wayne Carden

Wayne Carden was born in Anniston, Alabama and is a graduate of Walter Wellborn High School. 

Carden played football at Jacksonville State University, where he was a four-year letterman.  He played on the Gamecocks’ undefeated 1970 team.  Wayne remained active in sports by officiating high school football for 35 years, and basketball for many years.  Carden was inducted into the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame in 2015, before becoming a board member in 2016.

Wayne and his wife, Gail, currently reside in Anniston and are members of Betta View Hills Church of Christ.  They have two children, Wayne Jr. and Julie, and two grandchildren, Bailey and Ellie.
